Hello..
I hope you wont find this request too trivial.
Is there any registry entry /initiation fix than can be applied to stop or disable the system tray icon when opening AU3?.I really like this programe but find the system tray icon unnessacary .Obviously i dont mind a minimize to tray option.

Ellison, if you don't want the AU's icon to be visible just:
1. Right, click the Start button and choose Properties.

2. In the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box that opens, click on the Taskbar tab. Two options for customizing the Notification Area appear in the lower portion of the dialog box.
Show the clock: If you clear this option's checkbox, Windows will never hide Notification Area icons. Instead, all of its icons will always be visible.
Hide inactive icons: If you clear this option's checkbox, Windows will never hide Notification Area icons. Instead, all of its icons will always be visible.

You can also choose which icons are hidden and which aren't. Click the Customize button to see a list of all current notification icons, and notification icons that have appeared in the past. To choose how you want any notification icon to be displayed, click on the Behavior that's currently assigned to that icons and in AU's case select Always hide. Choosing this option prevents the AU's icon from ever appearing in the visible portion of the Notification Area.

Would this satisfy you?

Also, I might add your idea would be a good option.

Hello..
Sorry i havent replied sooner..i didnt get an email notification so i guess id better check my setup.

Cal..I dont use XP , im still using w98se hence my reluctance to see the possibly unessacary icon using resources.Ive also noticed version takes quite a lot longer to load too (the windows timer icon stays there for quite a while on initial opening which didnt happen with 2.6), i guess in part because of the tray icon loading?

Jazz.. i do know that the icon disappears on closure ..id get a bit worried if it didnt :) , i just cant see the point in it ,as it is, because you cant right click on it or access any menus from it.
