hi!

i purchased ace utilities 64 bits from here today and i installed it on vista home premium 64 bits. as soon as i finished with the installation and closed the program, i got the message that its incompatible with the system. has anyone had the same problem? the program runs well and i get this message just right after installation. is it a way to fix this problem?

thank you in advance!

Hi

Can you please send us a screenshot of the error message to support@acelogix.com? We could not reproduce the error here.

To make a screen shot, press 'print screen' on your keyboard.
After that, Open 'paint' program, click 'Edit > Paste' menu. Save, zip and send me the file.

this happens only right after i install it and then close it for the first time. it doesnt happen again after that. this is what vista gives me as the problem of the software:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?>
<DATABASE>
<EXE NAME="au64.exe" FILTER="GRABMI_FILTER_PRIVACY">
<MATCHING_FILE NAME="au64.exe" SIZE="2513216" CHECKSUM="0x17FB448D" BIN_FILE_VERSION=" 4.1.0.4052" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="4.1.0.4052" FILE_DESCRIPTION="System maintenance and Optimizer utility" COMPANY_NAME="Acelogix Software" PRODUCT_NAME="Ace Utilities" FILE_VERSION=" 4.1.0" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT="© Acelogix Software" VERDATEHI="0x0" VERDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x4" VERFILETYPE="0x1" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x270272" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION=" 4.1.0.4052" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="4.1.0.4052" LINK_DATE="11/17/2007 14:35:32" UPTO_LINK_DATE="11/17/2007 14:35:32" VER_LANGUAGE="Language Neutral [0x0]" />
</EXE>
</DATABASE>

i cant take a snapshot since it happened only once.

From what I have 'googled', it seems this error message is shown when Windows detects that the setup program has failed to create entries in the add/remove section in the Registry.

In simple words this means the setup program might have failed to create an uninstall entry in the registry.

Can you please check the 'Programs and Features' applet in the control panel to see if there is an uninstall entry for Ace ?

This error message has nothing to do with the actual Ace Utilities program as it is a true 64 bit exe. The setup program is a 32 bit exe.

There is nothing to worry about using Ace as it is not affected ; this is an issue with the installer program.

i have tested aufull and it doesnt produce the same error message. but i tested au64 and that still gives me the same error. im happy with that aufull its ok! so i will go for that one since it works well. its supposed to work for both 32 bits and 64 bits systems right? this 2 setups can be a little confusing for 64 bits users. aufull says its for 32 and 64 bits and au64 just for 64 bits...
