3.x to 4.0 Update trashed old config settings

I updated Ace Utilities online from 3.x to 4.0. Am configured expert mode. All my configuration settings, even exclude / include settings were lost. Luckily I thought to look before running any of the utilities and I configured everything. I will be restoring my system from a HD image file in a few days then will update Ace again and keep it with some other system updates I need to make. Is there a way to do the update without having it trash the current settings or is this just the way it is? Thanks.

Start Ace Utilities and navigate to 'Menu' -> 'Settings' -> 'Export Preferences' to save the configuration settings to a file. Later, you can integrate these settings by using the 'Import Preferences'.

I've been using Ace utilities for a long time and never knew that feature was available, course I never needed it till now. Thanks for the help, this will certainly speed my re-update after I do a system restore from a backup image... Thanks again.
