Hello!
Ace Utilities v5.2.4.474 beta works with no issues for me.

Disappointment is in Plug-ins section.Nothing has done from last time, to many outdated entrys as well as not accurate auto - detect plugins.
Also many people here would see registry finder implemented into AU, as well as windows miscellaneous like windows defragment, services, system etc...

There could be also improvements in uninstall manager to erase leftovers usually in temp, roaming and program files folders.

Regards!!!

Plug-ins update is in the list. If all goes well, we could include them in the release. Let's see. Also, it's a minor update to provide Firefox 4 compatibility.

If I remember correct (using Opera now) there was some issues with cleaning in Firefox 4 aswell, does it work as it should?
I will do some testing on Opera now and come back with results later
Plug-ins update would be great to see now, I think the most important now is to make sure all core functions of Ace Utilities are working correctly instead of new tools.

Opera 11 is cleaned quite good, there's some missed content;
C:\Users\mammoth181\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera\opcache\ (most cleaned, not all)
C:\Users\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera\opcache\sesn\
C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Opera\Opera\search_field_history.dat
C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Opera\Opera\sessions
C:\Users\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera\icons (icons for bookmarks should be excluded)
Cookie manager seems to work fine :)

Uninstall Manager doesn't detect more information about programs than it's name and publisher.
Size, usage, and last usage fields are empty, version would be good to have aswell.
Using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Hi,
I post two suggestions that I consider useful for adding to Remove Junk Files application:

1- The Exclude Always option should work for any file in the scannig result list.
In this beta version that option continue not working for "C:\Windows\Temp".

2- It could be good that in Remove Junk Files tool to be added two options :
a) Delete FOLDERS in "C:\Windows\Temp" (not only files). (Keeping the excluded folders/files of Exclude and Ignore Lists).
b) Empty "Temp" folders of the system. (keeping the excluded folders/files of Exclude and Ignore Lists).

Thank you

Regards

Hi,

Another suggestion is about "Erase Your History" app:

It will be very useful and interesting that we can view the complete list of files before the deleting step.

In this way, it will be useful we can verify each file or folder found by the app before to decide if eliminated.

Thanks.

The installer package contains both the 32 and the 64 bit versions. Upon running, it will install one depending on the Windows version.

1. There appears to be no mechanism for resetting the history data displayed via "Show how much space was recovered". Please add a way to reset this information.
[edit] I see that it can be reset by unchecking the "Track usage history" box and then check marking it again. This is not obvious, so a reset option is still appropriate in my opinion.

2. Under Miscellaneous>Registry Backup/Restore, in the final window that appears on a registry backup ("Registry Backup and Restore Tool"), the "Cancel" hot button should change to "Exit" or "Finished" once the backup is completed. "Cancel" implies that registry backup will be canceled when in fact it cannot be canceled once it has run to completion.

As best as I can tell, the Beta version does not always erase all Firefox cookies. Some cookies do not get erased (e.g. foxnews.com). Very weird.

When defragging and compacting registry hives, your program move old hives into user temp folder, I think the old hives should be renamed with .old extension and should stay in the same folder where they were replaced. I have tried WinASO Registry Optimizer and that has this option in their Reg Defrag and Compact.

I hope this release of AceUtilities will have Registry Find option included.

Thank you.
