We will not be able to update Wizard, Registry Compactor, etc in this version
If we do, we will not be able to release the update this month. This update has several critical bug fixes, so it's important we release it asap.
Will surely theme some more dialogs in the next version.
Okay, no problem

it's already a great update!

On Windows 7 x64 Professional, Ace RC2 Registry Cleaner totally wipes out Search indexing. All Reg Cleaner options are at default.

I just found a quite annoying bug using Windows XP Service Pack 3.
Some of the cleaning functions (maybe the history cleaner) makes Windows to reset all icons positions on desktop at next reboot, I can't find anything at settings about desktop icons.
You still have time to fix it?

That's not normal behaviour, there is no option to turn it off neither, never seen that happen in history sweeping before and I don't want it to happen now. Menu cache and tray icons cache cleaning is normal. Maybe not have to be fixed but I do want to be able to turn it off

Wolfy,
Uncheck 'Erase Folder Streams' option under Erase History > Windows page.

Can you send the registry undo file created for the scan that made this issue for you?

Let me know when you've got this so I can delete off the server.
After running the reg cleaner, I reboot. Click Start and search "Indexing Options".
Indexing Options just says "Waiting to receive Indexing status..." and no longer works.
It also loses all Indexing settings, I have custom settings:
Set to only index Outlook (which has five .pst files) and I move the "Index location" to another drive.
These settings are also gone.

I think I made a mistake, after cleaning the registry for the first time, reboot, rebuild the index and everything is fine.
I should have done that before I posted, sorry.
Thanks

Jwebby,
OK. But thanks to you, we've found a minor issue and registry cleaning will not make you rebuild the index anymore

Excellent!
I am also working on a problem that has been ongoing for years with cleaning Firefox and firefox cookie manager. Will post details shortly.
