Fix Invalid Shortcuts suggestion

Hi,

I want to suggest to add to the "Fix Invalid Shortcuts", the option to prompt to delete when the "Ace Utilities" find an empty folder in the "Start > Programs" menu, like the "SuperCleaner" have...

Best Regards

Sorry, that you were expecting a response concerning your suggestion since in most cases, and yours in particular, that suggestions are just considered or not. If however, one is good enough to add to the program then the response would be to let the whole forum know what's coming down the pike in the future.

Hi,

In fact, such a feature exists, but we disabled it since we saw some problems. We will include it after we test it thoroughly.

A little improvement on this feature:

When the AU will remove all the files in the directory, it doesn't remove that directory. Only after another scan AU detects that empty directory and removes it...

It's possible to check if the directory will be empty if AU removes the shortcuts inside the same directory, on the same scan?

Hmm..

I dont think it is right to list a folder as empty when it is not empty, IMHO. A user might decide not to delete a shortcut in the folder, and 'fix' it so as to point it to a new location. In such a situation, the assumption that the folder will become empty is wrong.

The problem is if I uninstall a program, and that program left the shortcuts, I have to run the 2 times the "Fix Invalid Shortcuts"...

I remember that "System Mechanic" makes what I suggested...

But if you don't like the idea...
