Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta (July 20)
Thanks for the beta update. The changes for MS Office 2013 keys in the AU registry cleaner are confirmed as fixed and I do appreciate that fix. 1. You should change the first post of this development thread to the latest version number of AU beta which is 5.4.0.538, not 5.4.0.537. 2. I would like to...

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta
Has Acelogix given up on this development? It has been 3 months since the beta test was initiated and no releases since the first release.

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta
In my opinion there is a major bug in the Ignore List Editor. When a user "Removes" a key from the Ignore List, it also removes the key from the Registry. This is very dangerous because the user has no idea that the key is also being removed from the Registry. As an example, I wanted to clear out U...

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta
Referencing my post above on MS Office 2013, AU does not seem to be honoring its User2.ini list. I keep adding the MS Office 2013 keys to the list and AU keeps finding the same keys over and over.

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta
Windows 8 x64 Professional, MS Office 2013 Home and Business installed locally on computer. AU registry cleaner detects a long list of MS Office Installer items that should be removed. These are all in the list of keys in the attached .zip file. On removing these registry keys, one or more of the re...

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta
No new beta version to test ? Seems like it has been quite a long time since beta 1 was released.

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta
In the Registry Cleaner module, keyboard commands such as Ctrl and Shift do not work to permit the user to select/highlight multiple registry keys.

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta
The Export/Import Settings utilities under Menu>Settings did not work for (my settings were not properly restored): Options>Miscellaneous (all the options on Miscellaneous returned to the default settings.) Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta
Thanks. Have V5.4.0 beta downloaded and installed.
First bug:
In the Start menu, START>All Programs>Ace Utilities>Utilities, the icon for Registry Compactor is incorrect. It is showing the icon for Registry Cleaner instead of the rc.exe icon.

Did you withdraw the beta download V5.4.0.537 or is it a incorrect download URL address?

Create Restore Point: Event ID 8194 error
This applies to Windows 7 SP1 x86 and x64 Professional with AU V5.3.0.485.
On using the registry cleaner, a VSS error occurs when creating a system restore point prior to the registry cleaning. See attached pic. This is 100% repeatable.

Re: Ace Utilities v5.3.0
It looks like every item I posted as bugs in RC5 got repaired for the gold release EXCEPT the icon for the Registry Defrag in the Start Menu. In START>Ace Utilities>Utilities, "Registry Compactor" has the same icon as "Registry Cleaner". RC.exe in the main Ace Utilities folder under C:\Program Files...

Re: Ace Utilities v5.3.0 RC5
On a clean install, there is no 'RegBakFolder' in the registry. There will be no such key until the user, for the first time, goes to the 'Options > Clean System Registry' and clicks 'OK'. If there is no path set in the registry, the Clean System Registry will 'fall back' to the default 'localappda...
