Re: Ace Utilities v5.6 beta

The download link is screwed up. It downloads aceutils.exe V5.5.0.544

Re: Registry Backup and Restore (RegBak) Beta 1.5

I notice if a user attempts to run regbak.exe on a 64-bit system, regbak.exe issues a message to "Please run the 64-bit version of this program".

Why not just code regbak.exe to start the 64-bit version regbak64.exe automatically, shut down regbak.exe, and eliminate the message all together?

Re: Registry Backup and Restore (RegBak) Beta 1.5

Looking good. The only thing I suggest is that the time format should display a colon ( : ) between the hour and minute instead of a hyphen.

You have to 'unblock' the chm file From 'Properties'.
Yep, that worked. Thanks! :)

Hopefully the manual "unblock" will not be necessary in the final release, eh?

Re: Registry Backup and Restore (RegBak) Beta 1.5

Using F1, none of the topics in the Help CHM show any information when selected.

See pic for issues with the date/time format on Windows 8.1.1 x64 Professional. My regbak.chm location is shown in the 2nd pic

Thanks for fixing the issue that I posted on Beta 1. All hives selected are now remembered. :)

Re: Registry Backup and Restore (RegBak) Beta

Installed on Windows 8.1.1 x64 Professional system. Beta 1 does not remember all the selected hive settings between runs. Is this feature going to be a separate feature to be downloaded separately for future versions of AU ? If so, it should have an installer/uninstaller so that it doesn't look like...

Re: Ace Utilities v5.5.0.542 Beta

This is on Windows 8 x64 Professional with Internet Explorer 10 as the Default and ONLY browser. In Erase Your History>Internet Explorer, the "Delete Adobe/Macromedia flash cache and cookies" module being set active to clean causes AU to hang with the CPU using ~50% for AU. AU has to be manually ab...

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta (July 20)

Thanks for the beta update. The changes for MS Office 2013 keys in the AU registry cleaner are confirmed as fixed and I do appreciate that fix. 1. You should change the first post of this development thread to the latest version number of AU beta which is 5.4.0.538, not 5.4.0.537. 2. I would like to...

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta

Has Acelogix given up on this development? It has been 3 months since the beta test was initiated and no releases since the first release.

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta

In my opinion there is a major bug in the Ignore List Editor. When a user "Removes" a key from the Ignore List, it also removes the key from the Registry. This is very dangerous because the user has no idea that the key is also being removed from the Registry. As an example, I wanted to clear out U...

Re: Ace Utilities 5.4.0.537 Beta

Referencing my post above on MS Office 2013, AU does not seem to be honoring its User2.ini list. I keep adding the MS Office 2013 keys to the list and AU keeps finding the same keys over and over.
