Re: Ace Utilities 6.0 Beta

Some very nice changes in this new version of AU. One issue that I've encountered on Windows 10 x64 Professional is that some of the element startup windows do not come to the front when first opened. For example Registry Cleaner and Startup Manager will not come to the front when first opened if ot...

Re: Ace Utilities v5.9.0 Beta

On the "View" options page, should "Save column widths" be made unselectable if the user has selected "Autosize columns". Seems to me that it should.

It erased zero bytes.

The program will just delete the file, without erasing it.
ahhhh, ok. Maybe the confirmation box should have a line stating "0 bytes = File deleted by not erased"

Re: Ace Utilities v5.8 beta

* Will not secure wipe files if they are in an SSD. This applies to Recycle Bin Wipe, Secure File Delete tool and the wiping of files by Erase Your History. Wipe Free Space tool will not wipe the disk space, but will wipe file slack space and MFT deleted entries. This is on Windows 8.1.1 x64 Profes...

Re: Ace Utilities v5.7 Beta

1. My recommendation is that a menu option be added in "Miscellaneous" to opt out of having the Disk Analysis added to Windows Explorer's context menu. 2. Would be great if you make the Erase Complete message box in "Secure Erase" always come to the front of the windows when it is displayed? It gets...

Re: Registry Backup and Restore (RegBak) 1.5

Thanks for the prompt response.

You might wish to release an update to AU because AU V5.6.1 does not contain a regbak64.exe file....at least it did not on my Windows 8.1.1 x64 Professional systems. I manually updated the RegBak files in my installed AU V5.6.1 per the latest release of RegBak.

* Improved the working of 'Delete all backups except the last ...' option.
* launches 64-bit version if the 32-bit version is run from a 64-bit OS.

Are these enhancements part of AU V5.6.1's RegBak component as well?

Re: Ace Utilities v5.6

Here is a before and after picture of the Task Scheduler. I took a shot of the Task Scheduler, then promptly ran the Clean Up as shown above, and then took a shot of the Task Scheduler again. Certainly looks to me that AU is doing it. By Cleanup, do you mean Erase Your History? Or is it Wizard? If ...

Re: Ace Utilities v5.6 beta

hi siliconman01, A quick check of Erase History scanning did not list these files, are you sure Ace Utilities is deleting these files? Because we have these in our ignore list. Here is a before and after picture of the Task Scheduler. I took a shot of the Task Scheduler, then promptly ran the Clean...

This is on Windows 8.1.1 x64 Professional with Internet Explorer as the default and only browser on the system. In the Auto Start Manager, Internet Explorer BHOs are not displaying the proper status. They all show enabled whereas some are disabled.

Re: Ace Utilities v5.6 beta

I see the V5.5 license key does not work for V5.6 beta. Is there going to be a license fee charge to get the proper license for V5.6 upgrade?

Re: Ace Utilities v5.6 beta

Why not have AU include a shortcut link to the Registry Backup and Restore option (regbak.exe) in the list of utilities available in AU ?? See attached picture.

Re: Ace Utilities v5.6 beta

1. Thanks for fixing the beta download link.

2. There appears to be a minor bug in the message on bottom bar of the registry cleaner after completing a thorough registry scan and fix. See the attached picture.
