* Improved the 'collapse' feature of various 'scan lists'.

* Fixed a minor issue in the 'Auto-Start Manager' where some times switching among certain filters in the 'categories' bar would affect the listing of entries.

* Improved the 'Update module'. Added an option for 'update check interval period'.
* Fixed an issue in the installer where 'if the previous installation of Ace Utilities was on a drive which is no longer valid, then the update installer would not allow the user to change the install path'.
* Fixed an issue in 'Erase Your History' > Clear past icon history of System Tray' option. Ace Utilities no longer uses VBScript.
* Fixed an issue in 'Erase Your History' > 'Misc Items' and 'Fix Invalid Shortcuts' tools where in some cases a 'Server Busy' prompt was being shown during the 'loading' process.
* Slight change in themes and GUI. Main tools now show a 'progress indicator' in the taskbar icon while a 'scan' operation is in progress.
* Made changes in Cookie Manager's user interface. Cookie Manager now saves 'last window position'.
* Added a feature where the Cookie Manager shows all the browser cookies by default. Also added an option to 'filter' specific cookies from the list.
* Removed 'sound alert' on mouse clicks and at the completion of tasks. Instead, now the taskbar button for Ace Utilities flashes to indicate the 'end of an activity'. Taskbar messages above the System Tray are also disabled except for one or two activites.
* While running tasks using command console (cmd.exe) or through the 'Scheduled Cleanup', an 'animated icon' is now displayed in the System Tray. Click on the icon to bring up the 'activity progress window'.
* Added '/opentool' paramater in addition to the existing '/launch' option. Refer 'Ace Utilities > Options > Jump List' section for more information.
* Added 'Collapse' functionality to various scan lists like that in the 'Clean System Registry' tool, the 'Remove Junk Files' tool, etc. (Windows 7, Windows 8 )
* Fixed an issue with 'Scheduled Cleanup' where, in some cases, Ace Utilities would crash when scheduled clean up starts.

Downloaded and tested...

Disappointed that the issue with not being able to wipe the recycle bin while Ace is open is not fixed. You can secure erase documents when you have the main interface open but you cannot run the wipe on the recycle bin.

Have been testing AU V5.3.0 Beta on Windows 7 SP1 x86 and x64 Professional for a couple of days. Thus far, the beta is performing very well. My primary use of AU is for registry cleaning and maintenance.

When using the auto start manager, it is not possible to disable or remove a RUN key from HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. All but 2 of the options in the rightclick menu are inactive. The same applies to the Startup folder entries.\

NOTE: This bug is related to having only one item in the respective startup area. For example, if a second program is added to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, then the rightclick menu totally activates on both keys. However, when one is removed, then the right click menu goes inactive for the remaining key.

Here are my questions (RC4):
1- Is there any form to avoid the groups of files or keys that the results show after a scan, for example setting it in Options?
2- When it is opened a group, the found elements appear highlighted (blue), is it a bug?

Hi,

1) Right now, you cannot 'remove' a group from the list.
2) When you expand a group, the entries inside that group get 'highlighted'. But if you click on an entry, this disappears. It's a 'side effect' of the new style.
